Terms of Use

Echo · Last updated 2 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and CNTXT for the use of Echo. By using the app you accept them. If you do not, please do not use Echo.

1. What Echo does

Echo records audio, transcribes it, summarises it, and organises the result into notes and folders. Transcription and summarisation are performed by an automated speech-recognition service.

2. Your account

You need an account to sync and process notes. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in method, and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Echo.

3. Your content stays yours

Your recordings, transcripts, summaries and notes belong to you. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, and to transmit it to our speech-recognition provider so it can be transcribed and summarised. We do not use your content to train models, we do not publish it, and we do not sell it.

4. Recording other people

This one matters. Laws about recording conversations differ from country to country, and in many places it is illegal to record someone without their knowledge or consent. You are solely responsible for making sure you have the right to record anything you record with Echo, and for complying with the law wherever you are. We cannot and do not check this for you.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Echo to record or process material that is unlawful; to harass, threaten or infringe the rights of anyone; to attempt to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service; or to resell access to it. We may suspend or terminate an account that does.

6. Free tier and subscriptions

Echo includes a free allowance of processing minutes each month. Beyond it, processing requires an active Pro subscription.

We may change prices or what a plan includes. If we do, we will tell you before the change applies to you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

7. Accuracy — please read

Transcripts and summaries are produced by automated speech recognition. They will contain mistakes, particularly with unclear audio, overlapping speakers, background noise, names, technical terms and dialect.

Echo is a note-taking aid. It is not a court reporter, a medical record, or a substitute for professional advice. Do not rely on a Echo transcript or summary where accuracy carries legal, medical, financial or safety consequences without checking it against the original audio yourself.

8. Availability

We aim to keep Echo running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Processing depends on third-party services, and on your device and network. Features may change, and we may discontinue parts of the service.

9. Deleting your account

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is permanent and removes your recordings, transcripts, notes and related data. We cannot recover them afterwards. See the Privacy Policy for detail.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, or if we are required to by law.

10. Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Echo is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data, lost profits or lost opportunity. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for Echo in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited by agreement.

11. Apple App Store

If you obtained Echo from the App Store: this agreement is between you and CNTXT only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Echo or its content, and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance. If Echo fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will update the date above and tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Echo after that means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of the UAE have jurisdiction, except where the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
